It's a sidewinder, poisonous but not deadly. Richard says if you get bit you have a week before it turns gangrene. But this one was little, too small and slow to be very dangerous.
In 2002 I joined a short-term missions team to Namibia in SW Africa, where they say the dust mixes with your blood and you can't help but return. Since then I've been back 6 times, most recently to live for a year as a distributed pastor of Christ's Church of Amherst. This blog chronicles my adventures through stories, pictures, journal entries, and more. Consider this your invitation to join in the ride.

Scary is that a rattlesnake?
Ahhh! Richard would probably like a honey badger to take out that "little" fellow.

Hi!
Very interesting blog!
I like your pictures a lot, including this one...
I love Africa very much, have been there a few times, but never in Namibia...
Keep on enjoying your stay.
Greetings from Lisbon
